Welcome to the Bridgend and District Pool League website.

The Bridgend and Distrit pool league is affiliated to the Welsh Pool Association and plays UK Blackball Rules

The league has 30 teams this Winter season, which will run between the
end of September 2017 and June 2018. The league currently has 320 players, divided into 3 divisions .
Premiership, Division 1 and division 2

The standard of pool within the league varies from teams that contain both current and former international players
and those who simply enjoy a game of pool on a Thursday night in good company.
The teams play in licensed premises throughout the Borough of Bridgend and neighbouring districts.

The website has tabs at the top which will open up league tables, and current competition entries.

There is a League Facebook page "Bridgend Pool League" where anyone
interested in joining a current team can find further information about the league.

AGM
A few ammendments took place at this years AGM, and were put into the constitution to help better our league.

*1 This Summer past we decided to take an active approach to bettering the league by introducing an APP to help run the Fixtures as you know, however the APP was voted against for the Winter League as it wasnt as reliable as we'd have liked and was unused towards the end of the Summer season, the app wouldnt have been of use to the Tournament Sec. and therefore was deemed a waste of money for the league.

2* In a bid to keep the league's results up to date, the Fixture Sec. proposed that ALL RESULT SHEETS were to be received by the following Wednesday at 8pm so that the website could be updated in good time to start the next match knowing where your team is positioned in the league table. This was voted for by the majority.

3* Again for the interest of the league and to keep good order, the Tournament sec. proposed that the dates given on the tournaments were to be known as DEADLINES, if you know in time that you cannot play the tournament on the date provided then you have the ability to re-arrange your tournament and it is to be played NO EARLIER that 14 days PRIOR to the deadline. whilst all other rules stand. This was voted for by the majority.

4* Tournaments Venues are to be drawn from a hat (or by means of fair draw) to the quarter finals where it was also proposed by the Tournaament Sec. that the quarter finals, semi finals and final venues were to be agree'd on by the committee with the help of last years table rankings.

5* The first rounds of the Major Tournaments (OPEN SINGLES, DIVISIONAL SINGLES, OPEN DOUBLES AND KNOCKOUT THREE'S) have been included in our Fixture this year and they too will be played on a Thursday also, this prolongs our league only by 3 weeks after removing the two "Catchup Weeks" from last years fixtures. So Please get your Tournament entries in at the next meeting (3rd of October) so we can get the tournaments drawn and in place asap.

Thank you.

SUMMER LEAGUE
Thank you to everyone who entered this years summer season and supporting the BDPL. Well done to everyone who got through to the knockout rounds and better luck next year to those who did not, there were a few unexpected results which seemingly supprised everyone in this event, a few teams upped their games and brought results making the summer league a more exciting oneAnd as always Congratulations to the HUSTLERS who have yet again dominated the summer, again taking home this years prize, but a very great effort from a new team that has formed called THE TAVERN TITANS, who have challenged the HUSTLERS for the Summer Title, after beating The Premierships Runners Up in a close 5-3 battle.

Well done and a great effort from everyone who entered.

WINTER LEAGUE.
League Registration also took place on September the 12th and I am happy to announce that we have maintained a good 30 team entries into this years Winter League, all of the entries have been filled in and the fixtures are online for your convenience.....

NOTE:
New Player registration fee is £7.00 and must be payed to the Fixture Sec. before 8pm on the night, new teams must recognise that playing an un-registered player is prohibited and will lead to a ban for a certain amount of league matches.

On behalf of the committee I would like to wish you all the very best of luck in this season and I hope the league turns out to be as exciting if not more than the previous years.
Good Luck!!!
